Born in the city of Santo Domingo, holds a Bachelor degree in
Philosophy from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, UASD. Elsa
Núñez accomplished her painting studies at the National School of
Plastic Arts, graduating as Painting and Drawing Professor in the year
1962. In 1970s parts for Madrid where she takes a
postgraduate course in the Real Academia de San Fernando de Madrid and a free course in the Fine Arts Circle of Madrid.
She has imparted teaching in the National School of Fine Arts, ENBA, in
the Dominican Association of Plastic Arts, the Salle School , in the
Experimental School Fidel Ferrer and the Candido Bido Painting Academy.
With her husband, the actor and painter Angel Haché, has directed the
Children Creativity Workshops of the Central Bank Club, Theatre House,
the Modern Art Gallery and the Museum of the Royal Houses. In 1978 was
invited along with her husband by the UNESCO to visit Spain and France
in a trip for cultural communicators. She Directed the Paul Guidicelli
Hall of Theatre House. Currently, she is the Chairwoman of the
Dominican Association of Plastic Artists, where she previously had been
Financial Secretary and is a member of the Patronage of the Modern Art
Museum. Elsa Núñez has presented thirty three Individual Expositions
and has participated in countless Collective Shows in the country. Her
works have been exposed in the Fine Arts Palace, the Gallery Olimpia,
the Gallery Andrés, the Catholic University Mother and Master in
Santiago de los Caballeros, in the Art Gallery Rosa María, the Gallery
Auffant, Theatre House, Candido Bido Art Hall, Modern Art Gallery, “La
Galeria”, Gallery Deniel’s and in Madrid, in the Greater Association
Guadalupe, the Hispanic Culture Institute and the Gallery Forum. She
has exposed, furthermore, in biennials and important galleries, as are
the Gallery in Saint Thomas, Annual Art Contest E. Leon Jiménes,
International Show Caribbean Union, New York, collective “Our
Peruvian-Dominican Painting “ (Madrid), Biennial of Plastic Arts in
Santo Domingo, Current Iberian’- American Art, Cultural Center of the

As artist invited in 1994 illustrated for Periolibros “Stories to be
Told After the Bath” of Camilo José Cela. Her works are found in
museums and international institutions, as in the Museum of Ponce
(Puerto Rico), Hispanic Culture institute (Madrid), Museum of the Royal
Houses, House of France and Museum of Modern Art (Santo
Domingo), Office American Express (Miami). Prizes and distinctions define all an artistic life.
